The ball will serve as a symbol of a successful, completed course at the hospital. The ball will roll down the seven-story building along the iconic staircase and land in a beautiful brass ball bath in the foyer. The sound of a new ball will spread joy and hope to other children and parents during a difficult time.
The installation was developed by the artist group Sans Facon to create joy, hope and magic for children and families at Mary Elizabeth's Hospital. The brass balls are specially designed and inspired by Piet Hein's Super Egg. The ball fills a child's hand and an adult's palm.
